DECIDING TIES FOR AWARDING STATE TEAM POINTS
In awarding points to individuals for determination of state team participants, all first place ties will be determined by sudden death play-off on the golf course, as soon as possible. All players in a sudden death play-off for first place in a state event must make themselves available to the competition. Any player absent when the play-off begins will forfeit his/her position. With all other ties, points will be split among the number of eligible participants tied. i.e., if three players tied for third place, the points for 3rd, 4th, and 5th places, would be added together and divided by three. Each player would receive one third of the total available points for the three places.
4. Other important factors will be considered, such as sportsmanship, attitude and physical condition (injury or illness). Any pick-up or improper withdrawal from a tournament will result in the player's inability to count the event as a participatory tournament.
The selection of the teams is made by the JGAA immediately after the Mesa City Junior Championship is concluded, and their decision is FINAL. Please also understand that any serious breach of a JGAA rule, policy or procedure will eliminate the junior from selection, regardless of ranking.
