These tournaments will be held during the summer. If you would like to be considered for one of the teams, you must be an active member in good standing of the JGAA, and you may not have reached your 18th birthday by the final-round date of the team competition for which you are selected. Any eligible member must declare their intention to be considered for a JGAA State Team. Declarations must be made on your 2013 membership Application.
2013 State Team Events:

Four juniors will be selected each for the Boys and Girls America’s Cup Teams as well as the Boys Hogan Cup Team. In addition, two girls will be selected to participate in the Mary Cave Cup.
*Team members for the Girls America’s Cup Team may only be ages 14-17.
Only JGAA members competing in the Championship Division will be eligible to earn points. A JGAA member (boy or girl) who is 13-18 years of age may request permission to play in the championship division if their level of experience and skill justifies doing so. Such a request must be made in writing to the JGAA office prior to May 9, 2013. If the request is approved, the player will compete only in the Championship Division for the ENTIRE 2013 SEASON. If, after approved, the request to play is withdrawn for any reason during the season, the application will not be reinstated under any circumstances.
All players will be selected based on the following criteria:
1. Points will be awarded to the top five finishers in the following events. The player with the most total points, will be selected for the state teams
2. All Team Members will be determined by order of their accumulated point total. Points will be awarded for 1st through 5th place.
1st - 50 pts, 2nd - 40 pts, 3rd - 30 pts, 4th - 20 pts, 5th - 10 pts
25 additional points will be awarded for 1st thru 10th place, older age division only, in the following national junior golf organization tournaments: From April 1 thru June 29, 2013: American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) 3.International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) From 2012: Top 10 at the Junior PGA Championship
DECIDING TIES FOR AWARDING STATE TEAM POINTS In awarding points to individuals for selection of state team participants, an on course, play-off will be used to determine the 1st place winner and resolve any ties if there are more than two players tied for 1st. All players in an on course play-off must make themselves available to the competition. Any player absent when the play-off begins will forfeit his/her position. With all other ties, points will be split among the number of eligible participants tied. i.e., if three players tied for third place, the points for 3rd, 4th, and 5th places, would be added together and divided by three. Each player would receive one third of the total available points for the three places.
4. Other important factors will be considered, such as sportsmanship, attitude and physical condition (injury or illness). Any pick-up or improper withdrawal from a tournament will result in the player’s inability to count the event as a participatory tournament.
Any JGAA Member who qualifies to participate on one of the State Teams will be asked to pay $250 to help with costs of travel expenses, team uniforms, etc.
The selection of the teams is made by the JGAA immediately after the Junior World Qualifier #2 is concluded, and their decision is FINAL. Please also understand that any breach of a JGAA rule, policy or procedure that results in disqualification at any JGAA event, or any behavior unbecoming to a representative of the JGAA, will eliminate the junior from selection, regardless of ranking.
